Dress's Quilt

So this is one of the projects that just came home from work it has been hanging for several months, I really enjoyed working on this quilt and received many nice comments from it.

This is what I have been doing sewing pj's for grandkids, some samples for work now it's time for me I just want to play again.

New Blocks

Well I dived right in and started working on a new lap quilt, this will take some time to finish as it is in the crazy quilt style.
I completed 2 blocks today and am quite please with how they turned out.
I wanted to try curved piecing but I did my blocks in the topstitch style as I wanted to add lace to the seams. I really like this method of piecing, and I think it is my favorite.

I added chunky stitching to the seams with pearl cotton thread is size 5 as I like the bigger look more rustic and homey, not a lot of other embellishments will be added to the blocks as this is done in cottons and I want it to be washable and similar to a sane quilt.

SLUMP

I have been in such a slump lately just fiddleing with one project or another not really finishing anything not really wanting to work on anything.
I thing it has to do with the start of the cold weather and it doesn't help that we have both been very sick with this nasty cold virus that has been going around.
I recieved Allie Aller's new book in the mail yesterday and was devouring it last night, can't wait to try some of the projects in it especially curved piecing.

I need a diverson from sane quilts for awhile, think this is part of my problem I am in just a play mood.
So one more day of work then play time for 2 days.

Funky Quilt

I am making progress on my wild and funky quilt.

Here are the blocks I have done so far.
I don't know how big this will end up being I would like it to be lap size.
These take a little more time as I am satin stitching around each diamond with a varigetated embroidery thread.

Look at the wonderful present I received when I went to work on Sat.
My manager ordered these for me along with a set of placemats that she wants done.
She is also thinking of ordering another quilt to be made, as she says she can't have me sitting idle lol.

Well that's what I have been up to what about you.
Oh forgot to mention I have the quilt top finished for a co-worker for her niece's wedding in Oct
just need to layer and quilt will have a picture when it's done.

Raining

It's raining here today so you know what that means it is another sewing day.
I have finished 2 new sample quilts for work, I have a top completed for a co-worker now just need her approval before layering and quilting.
I am starting another sample for work in funky bright colors not normally what I work with but just loved the new fabrics that came into the store.

I finished up my quilting classes with my two students they were thrilled with thier quilts and what they accomplished.

I am also working on a new sample for a class to teach at work, hopefully there will be more interest now that it is fall.

Back to Business

Well we returned from holidays last weekend and it is back to business.
Still recovering from all the bug bites.
The Mosquitos just love me, new blood, lol.
Working on a new sample quilt for work pictures soon.

Wizard of Oz Quilt # 4

Hi all, well it's a gorgeous day here in Hamilton, nice breeze, low humidity.

I have finished quilt # 4, with one more to go. I really like the colorway with blue and not red. When I was piecing this quilt I had to get into a whole new frame of mind as I was adding blue and brown and very little red, but once I got going it was a piece of cake.

I really like the back as it is not just solid but could end up being a reverisible quilt.

Finished Quilt

I finished up my quilt last night and I must say I really like how it turned out, I think I have found my style of quilting, where I combine the principles of sane and crazy quilting and put them both into one quilt. I only added lace and eyelet and ribbon as I didn't want a lot of little things on this quilt and it is machine quilted with a meandering pattern on the individual blocks, hope you like it as much as I do.

My quilt is coming along nicely I have started to sew all the trims down on the seams, I am really happy with the way it looks. pictures to follow when the top is done.

I have my first quilting students coming for lessons tonight, I am nervous as anything, hope I will do Ok, I have to remember that I do know more than them, but to keep myself in thier place, and teach accordingly.

So hopefully I can take them by the hand and lead accordingly and lovely as a mother would with her children.

I will let you all know how it went when the lessons are over.

Hello friends it has been a while since I've posted anything just haven't been working on anything lately to much other stuff going on.

Have found my muse again so this is what I have put together, it will all be appliqued to the background then embroidered with lace and ribbon and whatever else suits my fancy at the time.

Crayon tinted images

This is what I have been playing at lately, I used Aunt Martha's iron on transfers, but instead of embroidery I crayon tinted them then embelished with markers and more crayon tinting for shading and texture. These have been added to my etsy shop for sale.

Fabric Journal

I finished my fabric journal, it is only 8 pages as that is all I had of this one fabric, and as it was my first one I didn't want to go to crazy, but I have to say I'm hooked.

This was such a pleasure to work on that I just want to play and explore all mediums. I used paper as well as ink and beads and crafty little things.

I hope you enjoy looking at the photos as much as I enjoyed making them.
This is the very first page and it has my favorite things to do button clusters.

My second page has paper flowers on it and stencils with ink.

This is the third page the writing doesn't show up that good in the picture but it says your heart and mine.

So I made this for my friend Tracy and used the little brats you can get from the dollar store to spell out her name at the top.

I love iron on transfers and this is what the picture is of, I crayon tinted it first then deepened the color with gel pens.

The quote on this page is from Proverbs 18:24 which says in part "there exists a friend sticking closer than a brother." and the little beads at the top says friends forever.

This image is another stencil just colored in with gel pens, with another button cluster and paper images. The quote says Birds of a feather flock together.

This is just an image that I transfered onto heavy card stock because I loved the picture and just sewed it down.

And this is the completed journal just tied together with ribbon.

Well I have spent so much time lately working on sane quilts I really need a break so today I started working on a fabric journal for a friend. She lives in a household that is all male. husband and 4 sons, so she needs girly., girly things, so I thought a nice journal would fit the bill.

Here is my first page so far.

I am making this from a linen and cotton blend fabric, and everything I have attached so far is from my scrap bin.
I just love button clusters and of course the front page needed one, now i need to scoop the second hand stores for more lace as I want as much of this as possible.
I'm not sure how large it will be I'm just going to keep going till I feel it's enough.

Wizard of Oz Quilt

So here is the famous quilt that gave me so much trouble. There was nothing but problems from day one and the customer finally agreed to pay what I wanted because she realized that she couldn't do this quilt on her own and she wanted it as a gift for her mother.

So this quilt has now turned into 4 quilts the first one I did Kerry didn't like because it was not sideways, but another co-worker Judy just loved it and wanted it as soon as she seen it, I am now finishing that one for her.
Karen wanted one done for the store, so now I'm working on one for that, and another co-worker Melissa picked out fabric and wants one done for her mother who loves the Wizard of Oz, so I am now seeing these pictures in my sleep. lol

Well I just took another sample quilt into work and the amazing thing is it wasn't even hung for more than 5 minutes and someone wanted to buy it.

This quilt is already sold once it has hung for the 3 months it needs to be up as my manager was having this one done for her daughter, so the color scheme was already picked out for her tastes.
I really enjoyed working on this quilt as it is a little on the crazy side, but am very happy how it turned out and Karen just loves it, she had it on the cutting table for about an hour and just drooled over it.

Ranting

Well the ineviable has happened, a co-worker wanted a lap quilt made for her Mom, a fellow co-worker offered to do it for her as a gift to her Mom but she blantely told her she hasn't seen any of her work and as I do most of the samples for the store, that she wanted me to do it, when we were discussing price she assumed that she was getting it for free this after I completed one top and she didn't like it complaining that it was done the wrong way and after she drew me a map and everything. She said what I wanted was way to much and that she didn't want to pay for that, I even repurchased the fabric and made her a second top but after she said that she didn't want to pay I told her I would give her back her backing batting etc, and she could do with it what she wanted, she now assumes she is getting the finished top for the second time but I have repurchased the original fabric again and this will be what I am returning to her, I already have a buyer for the first quilt now just need to work on the second.

Thank-you for letting me rant and get this off my chest.

Well the only thing that has been happening in my world is sick, sick,sick. I've has this nasty cold that is going around wnet to the doctor's been on antiboitics, nasal spray it went away now it's back. My husband the same he has been sick for a month only now he has broncitis, back on antiboitics for him, he has a weekness for broncitis as it is. So sick sick sick, worry worry worry for my home, hope you all are faring better. lol

Tumbleweed

Well the calender says it is spring but the weather doesn't and my body doesn't, this week I have had a terrible sinus infection so when I don't feel good where do i go but to my sewing room because I don't want to do anything else.

So this is what I have been doing, and this is what I made and I called it Tumbleweed.

It measures 45 x 45 just wider than a single piece of fabric for the border so I took the same material for the binding and added a strip down the back.

I've seen this being done on a lot of quilts lately and decided to give it a try I really like the way it turned out, I did a loop d loop design in the quilting and have added this little quilt to my etsy site, hope you enjoy seeing it.

NEW QUILT

Well there happened to be a new baby quilt in the McCalls book for spring and it just had to be made for a display for work ,by far I really love this one. This was a collabrative effort on the colors by myself and co-workers.

Karen my co-worker just adored her batiks quilt and was very happy with the results, now on to the next one for Judy, then one for Kerry, I could make a tidy little business just from co-workers.

Oh if only I didn't have to work and could spend all my days sewing, well one can dream.

Winter is back

Well we woke up to a blanket of snow this morning and it is still snowing out could turn to freezeing rain, yummy.

I have had to be home for 2 days for medical reasons so guess where I spend my time, finished quilting the second quilt for my co-worker Karen it is all batiks and a very simple pattern, but I loved the way it turned out.

Here is a close up of the quilting shown from the back I just did a larger meandering all over nothing to fancy as this is all she wanted.

I have 2 more to go for co-workers and I am starting a new baby quilt for display at work, I will be busy for the next few weeks, lol but I love it.

Classes

Well one of my goals may be going to happen in the near future, we have the go ahead to start classes at the store and to make a proper spot to teach in, now all we need is students. We want to make this a regular feature so let's hope it flies.

Finished

The crazy quilt is finished, and it looks absolutely stunning with the black velvet backing and border. Karen loved the top without the backing so I'm sure it will blow her away with the backing, now these are her scraps from the highland dancing costumes she makes that would have ended up in the trash.
Now for other progress I have been working on my little embroidery wall hanging and this is what I have done so far. I've added borders and eyelet between them, put the name on , this grows each day as the next step is never planned out just happens.

There will be all kinds of embroidery on the border's and lot's more on the main picture plus beads and trim.

Well the top is finished on the velvet and tartan quilt, next step is for Karen to see it and decide if she wants a border of velvet and then the backing. I'm thinking it needs more embroidery but she is not an embroidery person, so we will see, I really like how it turned out and enjoyed working on it very much so here is the results.

I would love to make one for myself only out of the velvets only that way I could do all the embroidery I liked, this will be the next 6 months project. lol

Been Awhile

Hello all it's been awhile since I posted, I have been very busy, I've created 2 more quilts for work as we are now offering Charm Packs and Jelly Rolls we needed quilts to showcase them.

I have decided to jump into the world of Quilting Software and I ordered the basic design pkg from Electric Quilt called Design Wizard, so far I am having loads of fun with this program, I don't know if I will go all the way and get the full pkg but for now this will satisfy my cravings. lol

I have started to put my crazy quilt together and I might say it is looking very good, no picture till it's done.

We are working on putting together Quilting Lessons for the store and are taking names and numbers hopefully we can get classes up and running, it would be a big boost for business, anyone in the Hamilton area who would like to take beginning quilting classes come to Fabricland on Ottawa St and register.
This would also fulfill another dream of teaching, let's hope it flies. lol

Crazy Quilt

I have been making good progress on my crazy quilt I have one more square to go and have it up on my design wall to play with the layout of the blocks, I know this is not a very good picture but it's hard to take a picture where it is situated.

Yes I think it is going to be very loud and you can't see a lot of the embroidery unless you are up close but that is all I'm allowed to put on it.

My husband really loves it and doesn't want it to go to the rightful owner, but I have been teaseing my manager and she says he can't have her quilt.

New Beginnings

There seems to be lots of new beginnings happening in blog land lately wonderful things for wonderful people. Pat Winter's new magazine is available hop over to her blog and check it out, http://www.patwintergatheringings.com/ .

I also have a few new begininings takeing place, because of all the quilts I've done lately and displayed at work I now have 2 orders for quilts to be quilted, we are planning a workshop for spring for the store which I will be teaching, so I'm getting my little quilt made and samples and working up my lesson plan, look forward to photo's in the near future.

Spring is a time of fresh new things and these seem to be popping up everywhere one of my co-workers has been accepted into the Geritol Follies and she is so excited, as this is what she has done most of her life was to perform on stage, so I am so happy for her.

Now is there anything exciting happening in your life would love to know.

Good Morning All

Well another day has come and I'm almost finished another quilt for work, fell behind on the weekend due to a migrane. So glad this has finally lifted , when these strike it is like a pounding hammer inside my head and it goes all the way to the base of my neck, plus the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I also suffer from daily tension headaches so my sewing acts as a distraction which you know we all need. In the meantime :

I just found out that one of my niece's is expecting thier first child so all those baby quilts I have been doing lately, one will go to a good home. I also started a new wall hanging I have been inspired by all the wonderful thing Pam has been doing on the blog http://www.kittyandmedesigns.com/ that I decided to play around with my vintage embroidery designs, this is what I have started.

I tinted it with oil pastels as I like working with these then heat set this, I machine stitched with a triple stretch stitch on the machine to give it defination, now the fun part begins all the hand work it will have beads and trim, but each day will bring new thoughts on where to go, it will end up being a wall hanging with a pieced border, stay tuned for progress.

Well we woke up to an awful lot of snow today hubby has been out blowing since 10 this morning it is now 1 pm, I am so enjoying this day thought work was cancelled so on went the radio and away I went to sew. Taking a little break for some blog reading thought I'm working on a new quilt for work we are selling a lot of patterns and fabric as soon as the quilts go up for display, and everyone if just awed by my quilts, that is the non quilters at work lol. My skills are getting so much better because I am quilting daily which I love. My manager managed to bring me some more velvet 6 more blocks to piece on her velvet and tartan quilt so hopefully will have that finished in the next month, it has been such a joy to work on. Latest Quilt

This is the latest design I worked on for a display it's a McCalls pattern this quilt was a quilt as you go but I prefer my quilts to be solid so I altered the pattern to suit my quilt. Everything quilting design I tried just didn't seem to look right so I settle on just quilting in the ditch, I used Soft and Bright batting by the Warm Company and it makes it a thicker quilt, so will make a nice snuggle blanket on the couch, hope you all enjoy looking and have a wonderful day. Another quilt completed for work I really love how this one turned out it is done in batiks and it really makes the cats pop compared to the way it was done for the pattern. Yes I had to take the day off work as the flu has hit our home and my husband is really sick and needed care so of course that meant I could get some sewing done.

Well it is a wet and damp day here in Hamilton and I have the headache to go along with it. Not much going on creatively I am half way done with my wool crazy quilt, 11 more blocks to piece and I have 17 embroidered, then comes the fun part playing with the layout to see where each block will be put. Jokingly I get asked each day at work if the quilt is done yet I am estimating another month maybe lol better get busy, so I hope everyone is enjoying thier day and being productive.

Update on Crazy Quilt

My crazy quilt is comming along nicely I have about half the blocks pieced and 7 embroidered. In the mean time this is what I have done with the pieces that are to small to go in the larger blocks I've made a mini quilt and covered the seams with black velvet ribbon. This goes so much faster but I really like the hand embroidered on better.

I thought you all might enjoy seeing where I create I love my space except in the winter it can get a little chilly. This room is over the porch at the far end of the house, even though we have knocked the outside walls out and insulated really good it still is really cool the window needs to be replaced and it is just not in the budget, but it is my little sanctury.

This is my latest quilt that I have gotten finished, this one I used a polyester batting Hobbs poly down it was ok to work with but I do prefer cotton batting. As you will see when I was laying the quilt out to take a picture Forest had to inspect it to see if it was comfortable. Not much else going on right now and I know everyone is busy, enjoy your day.

Crazy Quilt Finds

I had Saturday off so a trip to value village was in order. I came away with some beautiful finds, very happy indeed to vintage iron on transfers for 2.99, a stack of old hankies for 99 cents as there was no price on them and this is what the cashier said so I grabbed them. I also found an older style photo album that's more like a scrapbook for 2.99 it was a happy day indeed.

New Crazy Quilt

Hello everyone hope today is special for you, I thought you might be interested in seeing my latest project. I have been commissoned by my manager at work to make her a crazy quilt, she makes kilts and jackets for highland dancing and she wanted a lap sized quilt made from her scraps, so this is what I have done so far.

Here is a close up of one block that is almost completed embroidered, she is not into a lot of fancy embroidery but she said it was ok to do the seams, I had picked up a bag of crewel wool on my last trip to value village for 3 dollars so this is what I am using to embroider the seams.

It has been an interesting week started last Sunday in the afternoon our furnace was making a very funny noise. It just wouldn't work would come on but that's it, so called the repair company they couldn't come out till the next morning. They couldn't find the exact problem so the whole control panel had to be replaced, that was done on Wednesday as they had to wait till the part came in, well it worked Wed afternoon til around 9 then wouldn't shut off so hubby goes down to play with it, they it just wouldn't come back on at all. So another call to repairman wait till next morning now they think it's the Hi Low switch replaced that then they had to come back out because the second stage wouldn't work properly, so hopefully it is fixed now because it is going to turn cold. Good thing for comfort protection plan from Reliance as it is all covered if not the bill so far is around the 1000.00 dollar mark, so glad I signed up for 12 dollars a month I've sure got my money's worth, hope things start to look up.

Quilt # 3

This is my third quilt that I have machine pieced really coming along with my free motion quilting I do need a lot more practice. I did a cable in the one border it turned out not to bad some places are a little wider than they should be but not bad. Please tell me what you think input is always appreceiated. Not much else going on other than this I'm not one to blog about the ordinary things of life, they are what they are it's my crafting that I like to share with my blogging friends, till next time. It's raining here today but it is not putting a damper on the Football game street already starting to fill up, yes I live 6 houses from the stadium, Hamilton vs Toronto today.

On another note I've finished a quilt I'm practicing my machine quilting I stippled the inner part of the quilt and added diamonds in the border, therefore I named this quilt Diamond in the rough, it will go to a very sweet gal in my congregation who is a little rough on the outside but is a gem inside, I'm hoping see will like it very much.

Here is what I have been working on lately when I do find time to sew, work and other duties has been just crazy lately but I need some beauty back in my life and I love quilting and embroidery and I try to combine the two when possible.
Here is a close up shot of the two blocks with embroidery so far I plan on doing the outside block in embroidery but with just embroidery, and then I want to hand quilt it.

So here is the second thing I have been working on, every year at this time we all do a display of the same item for the store this year instead of pj's we are doing aprons. I wanted an old fashioned look so I picked a nice quilting cotton with that feel and then solid for the binding. I am really please with how it turned out.

Haven't had much to blog about lately I've been busy making 2 more samples for work. My manager loved my teddy bear quilt so she wanted the one of the sheep done in girl colors so they could hand side by side, so here is the finished quilt.

I am really happy with the way this turned out hope you enjoy seeing my pictures and with these two quilts I did a simple stitch in the ditch to quilt them as so not to take away from the beauty of the quilts.

It's a McCalls pattern that I am using because when we do a display we have to use patterns from the pattern books so that anyone who wishes to make it can get the pattern and materials. Catch Up Time

Haven't had much to blog about lately haven't been doing any sewing. I brought home all the makings to do a sample quilt for work, i will post pictures of the pattern and fabrics before I start and the after shot before I take it back to work. That's one of the perks of working in a fabric store not only seeing all the new fabrics that come in but being able to do displays and converseing with staff and customers all day on sewing related topics, so till then I will say goodnight. Fabric Pages

I've been playing around with fabric pages lately this one I am making for my sister. This is the first page that I have done, I colored the fabric with oil pastels then heat set the fabric. The picture is a photo transfer then added lace around the picture. The border was done with ribbon trim and decorative stitching. I really like how this turned out up close you can see the faint image of the printed cream fabric under the pastel shading.

This is the flip side of the page this was done fabric fusion stlye, I started with a piece of fabric layered it with bits and pieces of fabric then trims and lace and thread covered with tulle and stitched it all done then added the pictures and sayings.

Haven't been up to anything lately Hubby has his next surgery on the 31 they are doing the left big toe joint it is being replaced this will take priority for awhile. Work is keeping me very busy we will be coming up to our busy season Halloween is just around the corner and for us it is the busiest time of the year. I hate this trying to help everyone figure out how much they need for thier costumes because most come in with a picture and expect you to work magic. Handmade Denim Bags

I decided I needed a new bag since the ones I purchase never last very long and I wanted another Denim one so I took a basic hobo bag pattern and crazy patched the front and ragged the seams. I used a patch that was under the pocket to imate a pocket for the inside. I am very pleased with how it turned out and plan on making some more to add to my artfire shop.

Yesterday will visiting Value Village this is what I come across, the box was a candle box as it still has the aroma of candles in it, I plan on recovering it somehow with crazy quilting, it was only 2 dollars, the string of shells is a necklace which can be taken apart, this is what I plan on doing and using the shells on a crazy quilt, it was only 2 dollars, the hankies were each a dollar, my goal is to get enough to make a hanky quilt, the sheet music was 2.99 for all this will make a good additon for art quilting. Great finds for 10 dollars.

New Art Quilt

I'm working on a new art quilt for my youngest sister, she lives with her husband and 3 sons so I decided she needs something girly in her life as her husband is a trucker and hunter and fisher. This is what I have done so far I love the idea of scrapbooking so I purchased some kits for weddings I took the one fram inserted her picture and then took other elements from that group put them all on a photo transfer page then cut them out and ironed them to my background, so far I am in the process of putting the beads around each picture, where this will take me I don't know. That is the nice thing about quilting as an art form you can leave it and when you come back to it it tells you what it wants. So this is my progress so far.

I have been playing around with decorator fabric lately and this is what I have come up with. I have added these to my artfire shop which I have renamed. I have decided that this is what I would like to do is create wonderful things that hopefully others will enjoy.

Vacation

This past weedend I enjoyed 4 wonderful days, visiting and camping with my brother and his wife, but in my haste in packing I forgot to take my camera. They camp just south of Kingston ON Canada on the Delta at Lower Beverly Lake it is a beautiful campsite and we are planning another trip next year hopefully I don't forget the camera as the scenerie there is just beautiful. I went on the wave runner for the first time and as someone who can't swim and is afraid of the water this was a major accomplishment. My brother wants to have a new boat for next year one big enough so we all can go out on, I'm really looking forward to this. This trip really helped to lift my spirits as I have been feeling over worked and depressed lately. Well that's all for now till next time Happy Crafting.

CREATIVITY

Not much has been happening lately just been to hot and humid, and then comes the migranes. I did happen to make a new pillow for my couch. Picked up a rement at work for 2 dollars for half a meter trim was free as it was a return, so was allowed to have it. I love it my daughter hates it, that's the differences in our styles.

I just can't seem to get my thoughts focused on anything new so I have been working on a nine patch quilt. Starting to put the blocks together will have pics when the top is together, this is what I do now when can't think of anything creative work on a sane quilt as these don't take as much thought as I like scrappy quilts.

So long for now hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

Hello everyone it's a scorcher out. I don't know about where you are but here in Hamilton On Canada this week is hot. Yesterday it was in the high 30's but with the humidy it was 43 degrees Celius. It is going to continue all week like this, good thing for air conditioning. We are continuing to put our store back together at work now that inventory is over, I would post pictures of our store but this would be against store policy. Let's just say I'm very tired when I get home no time for anything but sleep. Keep cool everyone and have a good day. Linda

What a crazy day at work today. We are going through our annual inventory, and it being a fabric store and a large one at that. We have the largest store in Hamilton 2 floors and a 3rd for storage. So in preparation all tables have to be flattened so all the fabric can be weighed. This was done yesterday so today we started setting tables back up. This upcoming week intails counting all notions backstock etc.

My daughter has it hanging on her bedroom door. I designed the outer border myself the saying is an iron on tranfer the colors I choose myself. My goal is to share the things that make me happy and give you some inspiration as well.

I have been following Pam Kellogg's blog and her art tuturiol. I really am inspired by her blog and her creativeness. This is the beauty of crafting we are inspired by one another. As a person who doesn't drive I am not able to take classes as so many can so this is where I get my inspiration from. This form of artistic expression is something I have always wanted to try so here is what I have come up with. It is my oldest daughter's tenth wedding anniversary and I wanted to create something beautiful for her. It is my hope that this will bring her much happiness.

I haven't had much time for sewing this week what with work home etc. You know how it goes. Tonight I had to stay home because my husband is not well he has cronic fatique and a host of other ailments, so I was in my sewing room just playing around and this is what I come up with. I'm going to add the to my artfire shop as mofits to add to crazy quilting what do you think. I would appreciate some feedback as to whether they would be marketable. It's amazing what you can do with scraps. This is all the time I've had for sewing we are getting ready for inventory at work, that means all the trims have to be measured or counted. All bolts of fabric have to be in there right grouping and all flattened so they can be weighted, sure will be glad when it's over.

Last month at work I picked up two pieces of Cars fabric. This is the joy of working at a Fabric store I get to see all the new fabrics as the come in and get first pick. It took me a while to get these made up for the grandson's as I have been working a lot. I finally got two days off together and seeing as it was raining here where I live I decided to sew all day. These are the finished garments. The red one is for Nolyn he just turned 5 on April 1, the blue pair is for his brother Aidyn he turned 7 on June 6.

D pin cushion I had seen some lovely ones on people's blogs and wanted to do one also. The Twisted Stitcher has a great tutorial on making pin cushion but I had all these used C D's that my husband was just going to throw out and wanted to use these. I don't think it turned out to bad. Hello blogging world I am new to this. I get so much inspiration from following other bloggers I figured it was time to start my own. My wonderful husband got me my own computer for our anniversay and I am just loving it. A bit about myself. I'm a wife mother grandmother, my picture shows my youngest daughters children with me. They just love all the things I make them. I've always loved crazy quilting and have completed 3 wall hangings so far. I'm starting a new one for my living room that has photo transfer on it.
